[Women's Bowling] Indiana Tech wins NAIA Women's Bowling National Championship
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - (NAIA Bracket) - Indiana Tech won the 2021 NAIA Women's Bowling National Championship at Five Star Lanes. The Warriors played through Bracket Play without losing a match for their first bowling national championship.
Indiana Tech used three strong games at the end of Baker Play to take the top seed heading into Bracket Play. The Warriors defeated No. 9 Ottawa (Kan.) and then sent No. 4 Pikeville (Ky.) to the consolation bracket. Tech next defeated Midland (Neb.) to advance to the championship match where the Warriors faced Midland again after the Midland battled through the consolation bracket.
Huntington finished the Baker Round with a pin count of 4,434 for the seventh seed. The Foresters defeated No. 10 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) in their first match of bracket play and then upset second-seeded St. Francis (Ill.). No. 6 Midland (Neb.) put HU into the consolation bracket where the Foresters fell for the second straight match, this time to No. 5 Baker (Kan.).
Host Lawrence Tech tallied 4,751 pins for the third seed but lost to No. 6 Midland in the opening round of bracket play. LTU defeated No. 8 Grand View (Iowa) in the consolation bracket before falling to No. 4 Pikeville (Ky.)
