Milwaukee Did Something Spectacular Tuesday Night

NCAA Basketball: Wis.-Milwaukee at Wisconsin

If you haven’t seen it, this is pretty amazing. Make a few minutes to watch.

Duke target Patrick Baldwin Jr. understandably is getting all the attention now, but his father, Patrick Sr., coaches at Milwaukee and is currently competing in the Horizon tournament.

On Tuesday, Milwaukee had one of the great comebacks in college basketball history.

Down 24 to Wright State with just 6:15 left, the Panthers roared back to force the game into overtime, where they won 94-92.

You’d expect it to be the sort of game where there’s a lot of pressing and forced turnovers, but it really doesn’t look it from this clip.

Whatever happened, it’s a comeback for the ages. It’s very much akin to Duke’s huge comeback at Louisville.

All things considered, it sounds like it was a great day of tourney basketball: the Cleveland State/Purdue Fort Wayne game went to triple overtime before the Vikings won 108-84, the Detroit Mercy/Northern Kentucky game was a 69-70 victory for the Norse (Northern, if you missed it), and Oakland beat Youngstown State 87-83.

In other words, the win margin for all four games was 11 points. It’s a shame more people couldn’t be there to see a day of hoops like that.
