The Lakers will see a lot of teams from the Eastern Conference in the second half of their schedule.

The NBA released the second half of its regular season scheduled on Wednesday, which means we finally know which obstacles the Los Angeles Lakers will have to go through to reclaim the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Through 32 games, the Lakers are 22-10, which is the third-best record in both the Western Conference and the league as a whole. The Utah Jazz currently hold the No. 1 record in the NBA with a three game cushion over the No. 2 seeded LA Clippers and a 3.5 game lead over the Lakers.

The Lakers will have the opportunity to narrow the margin between them and the Jazz on Wednesday, but there are a lot of games that will need to be played after that, and they won’t have Anthony Davis for a handful of them.

Here are the remaining 36 games on their regular season schedule following the All-Star break, and when they’ll be played, health and safety protocols permitting.

  • 3/12 vs. Indiana
  • 3/15 @ Golden State (ESPN)
  • 3/16 vs. Minnesota
  • 3/18 vs. Charlotte
  • 3/20 vs. Atlanta
  • 3/21 @ Phoenix
  • 3/23 @ New Orleans (TNT)
  • 3/25 vs. Philadelphia (TNT)
  • 3/26 vs. Cleveland
  • 3/28 vs. Orlando
  • 3/31 vs. Milwaukee (ESPN)
  • 4/2 @ Sacramento
  • 4/4 @ Los Angeles (ABC)
  • 4/6 @ Toronto
  • 4/8 @ Miami (TNT)
  • 4/10 @ Brooklyn (ABC)
  • 4/12 @ New York (ESPN)
  • 4/13 @ Charlotte
  • 4/15 vs. Boston (TNT)
  • 4/17 vs. Utah (ESPN)
  • 4/19 vs. Utah (ESPN)
  • 4/22 @ Dallas (TNT)
  • 4/24 @ Dallas (ABC)
  • 4/26 @ Orlando
  • 4/28 @ Washington
  • 4/30 vs. Sacramento
  • 5/2 vs. Toronto
  • 5/3 vs. Denver (ESPN)
  • 5/6 @ Los Angeles (TNT)
  • 5/7 @ Portland
  • 5/9 vs. Phoenix
  • 5/11 vs. New York
  • 5/12 vs. Houston
  • 5/15 vs. Indiana
  • 5/16 vs. New Orleans

Worth noting: If Anthony Davis’ current four-week estimate to return to the court holds, he would miss at least the team’s first three games before potentially coming back against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Lakers will open their season against the Indiana Pacers, a team they’ve yet to play this season. The other three teams they will play for the first time in the second half of the season are the Hornets, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards.

With all due respect to those teams, the Lakers won’t gain much from playing them (beyond probably a few wins). The real intrigue is with the teams they only played once in the first half of the season, including the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Jazz. They will also have eight back-to-backs.

There was a good amount of hype around the Lakers’ first matchup with the Nets, but the game didn’t live up to it because both Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant were injured. Hopefully April 10, both teams will be fully healthy.

Ultimately, though, it’s just the regular season. The only thing that matters is that the Lakers get through these last 36 games relatively unscathed and figure out their rotations before the playoffs. Everything else is gravy.
