In the words of Nike....just do it!

Former Blue Devil Zion Williamson has been celebrated since his high school days for his burly body and an unbelievable vertical leap. In high school, he was still fairly pudgy but he’s been in the process of transforming his body the last few years and while he’s never likely to be particularly thin, he’s much more streamlined, and powerful, than he used to be.

Look at him at Spartanburg Day School, then at Duke and finally with the New Orleans Pelicans.

The constants throughout his rise in the profession have been his unusually intelligent game and his leaping ability. People love to see him dunk.

He’s made it clear that he’d rather not be seen as just a dunker though and wants to be appreciated for his skill as well. Who can blame him?

He’s been somewhat reluctant to enter dunk contests for that reason but suddenly, he’s being quite coy about the NBA dunk contest, saying “you never know.”

We’re quite sure at least two forces would like him to do it, namely the league and Nike.

Will he or won’t he?

We’ll see soon enough.
