DePaoli, who has served on Fordham’s staff since 2010, was elevated from assistant when head coach Jeff Neubauer was fired Tuesday with the Rams off to a 1-7 start. Neubauer was 61-104 over his six seasons. Fordham has had only two winning seasons in the past 28 years.
DePaoli is one of four graduates of Capital Region colleges who are currently Division I men’s basketball head coaches. He joins Siena alumnus Carmen Maciariello, now leading his alma mater, and UAlbany graduates James Jones and Rob Senderoff, who coach Yale and Kent State, respectively.
