Due to COVID-19, the Cavs’ two games in Washington D.C. are have been postponed.

The Washington Wizards are one of the NBA teams currently dealing with COVID-19 issues with their roster. And as a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers scheduled back-to-back against the Wizards has been postponed.

The Cavs put out the following statement on Friday. It’s the first COVID-19-induced postponement for Cleveland this season.

Both Cavs-Wizards games were scheduled for Washington D.C. on Sunday and Monday. per the league, the game won’t happen because Washington won’t have the league-mandated minimum eight players to play. At this time, it’s unclear when/if the games can be rescheduled.

For the Cavs, it is a bummer to lose a game due to COVID-19. But considering how hit by injuries the team is, a few extra days off from games might be a good thing. With the postponements, the Cavs will play Friday against the Knicks and not play again until Wednesday, Jan. 20 at home against the Brooklyn Nets.
