YouTube Gold: Zion Williamson, The Pelicans And This Season

Things are looking good for New Orleans

Duke fans know better than just about anyone what Zion Williamson is capable of. We saw him absolutely shred college basketball not just because of his powerful athleticism but also because he’s an unbelievably smart basketball player and a guy who knows how to include and uplift his teammates.

With his injury, the pandemic, the broken season and his family crisis, Williamson’s rookie year was so choppy we didn’t get to see the real Zion.

We should mention - again - that his family crisis, whatever it was, was a big deal. This is a guy who is very close to his family and relies on them more than anyone else.

On the one hand, he’s being paid a truckload of money and is expected to perform. On the other?

He’s a teenager and a sensitive one at that. The NBA went down this road a long time ago. You have to deal with people as they mature. You can’t expect perfection at 19.

Anyway, we mention it because there’s a picture going around that is included in this video where Williamson looks as fit as he’s ever been.

If he’s in that kind of shape we expect to see the player we saw at Duke.

The guy who does the video is pretty perceptive and a big Pelicans fan. He talks a lot about the new talent and how it will all mesh. It’s pretty good stuff.
