A sweet follow up to a story from last year

Remember when Antonio Sellers came to Cameron last year for the UNC game?? He’s the kid whose dream was to play for Duke but who had a very difficult brain tumor and came to campus courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We’d hardly ever seen that level of emotion at Cameron before. We’d seen passion sure, and love for departing heroes and sadness when injuries happen and things like that. But we’ve never seen the outpouring of emotion for someone quite like that. Sellers really got love and we don't say that lightly.

Anyway, here’s a nice follow up to the story: the foundation decided to give Duke the Chris Greicius Award. Basically it honors those who go above and beyond in helping the young people who ask for wishes to be granted. They’re all facing serious if not fatal health issues.

What’s even cooler is that Antonio got to call Coach K with the news. We’d love for him to someday recover enough to be a Blue Devil on the court, but even if he never does, he’s clearly part of the team. Very cool story.
