Good stuff here by the Good ‘n Plenty man

While we listen to a ton of podcasts, not least of all our own, we don’t typically recommend them here.

However, in this case, this one is worth passing on.

Basketball writer Jeff Goodman has his own called Good ‘n Plenty and in his September 14th posting he interviews Chet Holmgren and future Blue Devil Paolo Banchero.

Banchero talks a lot about what drew him to Duke, what his future plans are. Being paid college players comes up as does the possibility of staying more than one year (spoiler: he’s keen on getting to the NBA but staying more than one year wouldn’t bother him at all).

Goodman asks both guys how they are dealing with the pandemic and missing summer ball and asks each to describe the other’s game.

If you’re reading here you’re probably familiar with Banchero but the 7-1 Holmgren is also highly intriguing.

Nicknamed the Slim Reaper for his very thin build (he weighs about 190), Holmgren first came to prominence after embarrassing Steph Curry at a summer camp. He’s about as unicorn as it gets, with outstanding guard skills and deep range. He really needs to gain about 40-50 pounds but he has plenty of time to do that. We’re not saying he can play point guard but a 7-1 guy with point guard skills is going to be highly sought after.
