It sounds like Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis will face the Clippers on Christmas after all.

Everyone hoping that LeBron James and Anthony Davis would play tomorrow when the Lakers face the Clippers in a Christmas Day showdown look like they’re in luck, as a couple of ESPN’s Insiders are reporting that James and Davis are indeed expected to suit up, despite dealing with a few injuries:

At practice on Monday, Lakers Head Coach Frank Vogel said that both James (thoracic muscle strain) and Davis (sore right knee) did not participate, and would officially be listed as questionable to play against the Clippers. We’ll see if the Lakers’ next status update mirrors this ESPN report, or continues to be worded more tepidly as the game gets closer to being played.

James missed Sunday night’s game with his injuries and hasn’t spoken to the media since getting hurt, but has been reportedly planning to play on Christmas Day. Davis — who played in the loss to the Denver Nuggets — said after tweaking his knee in that game that he was going to do his best get out on the floor to face the Clippers as well.

“We’ve got two days before our next game, so plenty of enough time to get it back right,” Davis said, adding that he wanted to see how his knee felt on Monday morning. “Hopefully nothing significant happens and (I can) get some treatment on it and continue to move forward.”

In addition to this current knee soreness, Davis has also dealt with an ankle sprain, shoulder soreness and a rib issue this year.

The Lakers take on the Clippers at 5:00 p.m. PST, and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN and ABC.
