The coolest Plumlee is on his own journey and he’s clearly treasuring it

Coach K left his job at Army in 1980 and probably thought he had seen his player enter the service.

Well not quite.

After his Duke career and a relatively brief time in the pros, former Duke center Marshall Plumlee, who had joined ROTC at Duke, quit basketball for what he calls a bigger team, and is now an Army Ranger.

In this video he talks about his choices and how he views Duke and the US Army as the two greatest teams he could possibly join.

We’re thrilled that he’s happy but we have a mild reservation about his service: he’s the biggest damn target since Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm I had his Potsdam Giants.

Well not really - the Giants never saw battle. If Plumlee does he is a huge target.

On the other hand, we can’t think of anything more intimidating than a 7-0, 250 lb. ranger coming at you with heavy weaponry.

He’s going to be a great soldier and while he was on the other team he mentioned, he proved that he’s a great leader.
