[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Volunteers at Heritage Park Preschool

The Brescia men's basketball team volunteered at Heritage Park Preschool for the previous four weeks. Student-athletes on the team assisted students with their daily activites, while continuing to promote the Brescia Difference within the community.

As Brescia University President Fr. Larry Hostetter wrote, "Brescia University is focused on producing servant leaders whose lives exemplify leadership capabilities balanced with the responsibility of service. It is what we call the Brescia Difference: Respect for the Sacred; Devotion to Learning; Commitment to Growth in Virtue; and Promotion of Servant Leadership."

"I love being a part of the NAIA and promoting the Champions of Character program. Students Athletes have a chance to impact people that maybe another person can't. Community service is a life lesson that teaches values to our student-athletes while it impacts the people we serve," said Head Coach Brian Skortz.

"To see that connection of pride and giving in helping others is such a special thing. Brescia University promotes servant leadership from our student-athletes and, as a men's basketball program, it is such an important part of our team culture -- being a part of one family and caring and serving others, that is part of the Brescia Difference," added Skortz.
