And Nike certainly knows how to do hype

Now that Zion Williamson has his shoe contract with Nike, what’s next?

Well, he’s wearing the Air Jordan 34s for now. Nike chief Mark Parker says that more good stuff is in the works.

“We’re working closely with Zion on new product creation and I’m excited for what’s coming in that area. No announcements to be made here today, but I think we’re going to see an exciting future with Zion in terms of product creation and the impact that he’s going to have on Jordan basketball and the game of basketball in general.”

They’re going to do a signature shoe at some point presumably but what they should consider is something specifically for bigger athletes. That’s a market that Zion’s shoe blowout inadvertently revealed and he is the perfect guy to pitch to it.

New teammate Lonzo Ball must be watching this and shaking his head at the lost opportunities his father cost him with Big Baller Brand.
