Ovie had massive fight with Love Island boys as he tried to defend Amber – but it was never shown on Love Island
LOVE Island’s Ovie Soko had a massive fight with the other Love Island boys as he tried to defend Amber – but it never made it to air.
The 28-year-old hunk is known for his chill and laid-back persona, but ex-Islander Jourdan Riane has revealed a whole other side to the basketball player, which she thinks would make fans love him even more.
Speaking out, the 24-year-old model revealed that the boys came to blows when Ovie stood up for Amber Gill when she famously returned to Casa Amor on her own, only to find that partner Michael Griffiths had snubbed her for Joanna Chimonides.
Jourdan shared: “He meant it with the best of intentions, he genuinely meant it with the good of his heart, he was defending Amber.
“It just wasn’t perceived in the best way by the rest of the boys, it didn’t go down too well.”
When pushed for details, Jourdan said: “In recoupling [Amber] was stood there alone and he was just like: ‘That’s it, you’re a boss, you’ve got this’.
“It was when they came back to the villa after Casa Amor, it just didn’t go down very well but I know he meant it in the best way.
“It could have turned into something bigger but thankfully it was a case of ‘just leave it’.”
Jourdan went on to tell the Yellow Cup Podcast that this is why he was so close to other Casa Amor boys George Rains and Marvin Brooks – with the Islander melting viewers’ hearts when he broke down in tears ahead of George’s dumping earlier this month.
She explained: “The three of them kept themselves away from everyone, he meant those tears.”
However, she thinks that all of the boys have since moved on from the feud, adding: “It was rectified as far as I know, every boy in there has had moments where they have an ego battle with each other in a house of men the same age.
“I just think there are moments in there that are not aired and others that take the spotlight – I think if they did air that people would have liked him even more.
“Ovie doesn’t have time for the drama and that’s why they were able to portray him as chill, but he is still a guy in the villa and every guy in the villa has his moments.”
Ovie has become a fan favourite since entering the villa, particularly thanks to his close friendship with Amber, with the pair coupled up as pals following her Michael heartbreak.
Ovie has since formed a romantic relationship with India Reynolds, and he revealed earlier this week that he almost gave up on finding love in the villa and had instead resigned himself to being Amber’s “guardian angel”.
He told India: “At one point, it looked like I wasn’t going to be in a romantic couple at all. I felt like I just had the role of the guardian angel over Amber.

“When I walked into that date, you stood out to me so clear. It really changed the whole experience for me. It’s brightened up my days.”
In last night’s episode, furious fans erupted when Ovie and India were nominated by their other Islanders to face the next dumping, which will be the result of a public vote.
They face Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan, and Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins, with Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, and Amber and Greg O’Shea the only pairs to not receive any votes from their fellow contestants.
