Siena basketball puts together 'best schedule for us'

The Saints announced their nine-game nonconference schedule this morning, which features four home games and one guaranteed money contest at Xavier of the Big East in Cincinnati on Nov. 8.
"That's the beauty of Siena is, I don't have to be locked into any sort of scheduling process,'' Maciariello said in a phone interview. "I don't have to play a certain number of guarantee games. I can try to make the best schedule for us. I felt in Year 1, we wanted to set the standard. You play at a tough Xavier team, which is a basketball school, to kind of show what it's all about. A team that's ranked in the Top 25 and something we can aspire to be."
