Klay Thompson is questionable for Game 3 with hamstring injury

After leaving Game 2, the sharpshooter is trying to get back on the court on Wednesday.

Klay Thompson is a game-time decision for Wednesday’s Game 3 between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors. The Warriors sharpshooter is being listed as questionable after injuring his hamstring in Sunday’s Game 2, and leaving the game.

At Tuesday’s practice, Thompson sounded optimistic about his chances of suiting up at Oracle Arena.

Thompson noted that he’s pain-free in most areas of the game. There are only a few movements that are hurting him, and he said that the high ankle sprain he sustained in the 2018 NBA Finals was much worse.

Always embodying the name on the front of the jersey, Thompson said he was more than happy to play through pain. But he also noted that if there is pain, he might not play, just to be safe. The Warriors can withstand missing the five-time All-Star for one game, but they may not be able to survive if he re-aggravates it and is out for the rest of the series.

Thompson’s return for Game 3 would be huge, especially since Kevin Durant has already been ruled out. But playing it safe makes the most sense.
