Lester Quinones, the 6-foot-6, 215-pound shooting guard from IMG Academy, is down to two schools ahead of his announcement on Friday, he told ZAGSBLOG.

Quinones is down to Indiana and Memphis after cutting LSU, Maryland and Michigan.

He visited Memphis in March for the AAC Tournament and maintains a strong relationship with head coach Penny Hardaway and assistant Mike Miller.

“My relationship with Penny and Mike is really good,” Quinones said Sunday. “We’ve build a great bond and they really have a plan to have a special team next year and win a national championship.”

Memphis already has 7-foot-1 James Wiseman, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and remains in the mix for uncommitted wing Precious Achiuwa of Montverde (FL) Academy) and R.J. Hampton of Little Elm (TX). Achiuwa has said he will announce later this month, while Hampton recently reclassified and expects to be on a college campus for the second session of summer school. North Carolina and Kansas are among those also in the mix for Achiuwa, while Hampton is also considering Kansas, Kentucky and Texas Tech.

Quinones also visited Indiana last month and is considering them as well. Head coach Archie Miller and assistant Bruiser Flint visited him last week.

“Coach Miller and my family are very close and my family loved the visit there,” Quinones said. “I really like their strength trainer and feel he’ll help me get to where I want to be. They have great tradition and I really connected with the returning players on my visit.”
