[Men's Ice Hockey] UM-Dearborn headlines Hockey awards

DEARBORN, Mich. - (Complete Honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) handed out its men's hockey awards during the conference tournament. UM-Dearborn took three of the four individual honors. Senior Tyler Groat earned Player of the Year with 40 goals and 18 assists. Sophomore Dawson Richard was voted as Newcomer of the Year for his impact of six goals and seven assists. Head coach Chris Haltinner was named Coach of the Year as he led the Wolverines to a 9-1 league record and the first-ever conference title. Rochester's Scott Cagnet was voted as the Champions of Character Coach.

First and Second Team All-Conference were named along with All-Academic (juniors or above in academic standing with 3.25 cumulative GPA) and Champions of Character Team (one player from each school who best exemplifies the five core character values).
