[Women's Basketball] Tigers fall to No. 12 Bears, postseason brackets announced
Georgetown College women's basketball finished off regular season play with a tough loss at Shawnee State University. The Tigers (20-9, 5-9) went shot for shot against the No. 12 Bears (22-8, 9-5) on their senior day. However, the fourth quarter the home team pulled away for a 90-75 win.
The loss put GC into sixth place in the Mid-South Conference standings, meaning when tournament play opens Friday it will be a showdown with third-seeded University of Pikeville. UPike swept the Tigers in regular season, but it was a narrow three-point margin this past week in Georgetown. Tip is set for 4 pm in Pikeville at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center.
