[Men's Basketball] Mechanics Fall on Senior Day

An eerily similar fate awaited Williamson on Sunday that they experienced in yesterday's loss at Central Penn.  After battling one of the top teams in the USCAA and keeping things close into the second half, the final ten minutes proved to be their undoing once again in a 70-51 loss to Bryant and Stratton College (Albany).  The game was the team's final home game of the year, and one in which they honored their three senior players at halftime of the contest.

The teams battled back and forth throughout the first half, with the Bobcats grabbing a one-point halftime lead at 27-26.  Neither tema led by more than five points until the twelve minute mark when Bryant and Stratton slowly pulled away for good.   Williamson turned the ball over eighteen time, to just nine for the Bobcats.  That combined with just thirty-eight percent shooting from the floor were major contributors to the loss.

At halftime, Williamson honored their three seniors, David Derby (SR/Pitman, NJ), Ryan Tobin (SR/Newtown Square, PA) and Gus Pagan (SR/Prospect Park, PA), along with their families.  Derby has averaged 7.9 pointer per game with year, along with 6.9 rebounds, while Tobin has averaged 11.9 points per game and 4.5 rebounds.  Pagan, who scored over 700 points in his three years, has averaged 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game this season, while shooting an amazing 89.3 percent from the free throw line.

Williamson closes out its 2019-20 season next weekend in Virginia where they take on Patrick Henry College on Friday at 5:00 P.M. and then Christendom College on Saturday in a 1:00 P.M. start.
