Warriors recall Jacob Evans III

0 2

Once again, Golden State’s rookie is headed up from the G League.

The Golden State Warriors have once again recalled rookie Jacob Evans III from the G League.

Evans has bounced between the NBA and the Santa Cruz Warriors all season long. However, his most recent stint in the G League was his longest one yet, and he hasn’t played an NBA game (or been active for one) since the Warriors beat the New Orleans Pelicans back on January 16.

The 28th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Evans has played in 16 games with Santa Cruz. In those games he’s averaged 11.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 31.3% from three-point range.

Evans has played in 23 games with Golden State, but mostly absorbed garbage time minutes. He’s averaging just 0.6 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game, but is only receiving 4.3 minutes per contest.

While Evans hasn’t been the NBA-ready contributor that Steve Kerr and Bob Myers were hoping for, he is showing some positive signs of development.
