Warriors recall Jacob Evans III from the G League
He’s back . . . again!
Jacob Evans III must be getting used to the drive from Oakland to Santa Cruz, as he keeps bouncing between the NBA and the G League. On Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors announced that they were recalling the young wing, just three days after assigning him to the G League.

It wasn’t the first time that the rookie hopped down to the G League and hopped back up, and it won’t be the last time.
Evans - the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft - played one game with the Santa Cruz Warriors during his latest stint, leading them past the Northern Arizona Suns 111-103. Starting alongside Warriors two-way players Marcus Derrickson and Damion Lee, Evans played 27 minutes and tallied 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal.
Perhaps the most encouraging thing about Evans’ play was his shooting, as he went 3-4 from the field; that’s a small step forward, but given that he’s shooting 5-22 at the NBA level, every improvement counts.
Evans will likely suit up for the Warriors on Thursday, when they host the Houston Rockets. But given that the team is relatively healthy, it’s unlikely that he’ll play, unless the game makes it to garbage time.
