Pac-12 preview: Cal’s defense is its biggest shortcoming

You could hear the frustration in Wyking Jones’ voice as the Cal men’s basketball team prepared to open Pac-12 play Thursday, still dealing with many of the same issues the head coach was harping on before the season started.

“I’m not happy with our defense, at all,” he said during a conference call. “… We have to do a better job of overall getting tougher and being more physical. We’re an undersized team, so, if we don’t have some edge to us, then we’re not going to be a very good defensive team.”
