MCPHERSON, Kan. - Going into the McPherson Classic with a 2-0 record, the Bethel women's basketball team (4-0) came away unblemished, after great games against Oklahoma Panhandle State (2-1), and Central Christian (0-3). Abby Schmidt (SO/Newton, Kan.) turned in a game for the ages against the OPSU Aggies, when she helped lead Bethel to a 63-49 victory by way of a 20 point, 20 rebound performance. This was the first individual performance of it's kind since Hannah Blackburn turned in a 22/20 game in 2011. Things were a bit tighter in the 72-64 win over the Central Christian Tigers, but points kept raining down. This time it was freshman Kendall Michalski (FR/Topeka, Kan.)'s turn to dazzle, as she would drop 20 points and tie the program single-game record with six three-pointers.
