Draymond Green says Tristan Thompson ‘ain’t cut the same’ at Warriors’ parade
Ohhhhh boy ...
Draymond Green didn’t say too much during the Warriors’ championship parade on Tuesday, but when he did speak, the world listened. And what Green, the NBA’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year, said could be interpreted as a shot toward Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson.
No, there’s no room for interpretation here. It was definitely a shot.

“They want a political answer but the fact of the matter is we just cut from a different cloth,” Green said. “It’s a lot of guys in this league ... they soft. We just cut from a different cloth. That’s all I really got for you. We just ain’t cut the same. I told one of them dudes from the cast after the game, he tried to shake my hand, I said ‘Tristan, we ain’t cut the same.”
There are no other players in the NBA with the first name Tristan, and definitely no other Cavaliers who could have been attempting to shake Green’s hand after the game. After all, it was Thompson who was ejected for supposedly attempting to elbow Shaun Livington in the face after Game 1 of the NBA Finals. And on his way into the tunnel following the call, he shoved a basketball into Green’s face.

There’s no telling if Green actually said that to Thompson, or whether the champagne is clouding his memory. But he absolutely ignored Thompson when he approached him to shake his hand after the game.

Draymond Green always keeps the same energy. Love him or hate him, you’ve got to respect that.
