[Lacrosse] Lacrosse All-Americans and Scholar-Athletes Announced
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NAIA honored several Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) lacrosse players with All-American and Scholar-Athletes awards. For the men, Madonna swept the individual awards with head coach Mike Walter receiving National Coach of the Year and Cole Gingell earning National Player of the Year. In addition, Gingell, Dan Diedrich of Aquinas, and Will McKinney of Indiana Tech picked up First Team All-American honors. Four others were named to the second team: Jace Childs and Evan Schuster of Indiana Tech, Nick VerVaecke of Lawrence Tech, and Danny Orr of Siena Heights.
On the women's side, six were named to the All-America First Team: Bailey Childs and Sam Vikstrom of Indiana Tech and Maddie Barnewold, Ashley Collins, Marci Schaeffer, and Isabelle Vickers of Lawrence Tech. In addition, Anna Curcuru and Lauren Sanford of Aquinas, and Anna Gagon of Lawrence Tech earned second team honors.
The NAIA Lacrosse All-America teams are selected by the NAIA-MLCA Executive Committee and the NAIA-WLCA Executive Committee in addition to four coaches for each sport as selected by the Executive Committee prior to the start of the season.
