[Women's Lacrosse] Indiana Tech, Lawrence Tech Advance at WLAX Nationals
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (NAIA Release) - The 2018 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Invitational saw all four top seeds,including two Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) teams, advance after the opening day on the Aquinas College Athletic Field. Third-seeded Indiana Tech was the first to advance with an 18-9 win against No. 6 Georgetown (Ky.) as Sam Vikstrom put on an offensive display with eight goals. No. 7 seed Siena Heights played next and fell to No. 2 Cumberlands (Ky.), 24-13. Fourth-seeded Lawrence Tech closed out the night with a 16-12 win over No. 5 Keiser (Fla.) after two lightning delays totaling 2.5 hours. In the only game that didn't feature a WHAC school, No. 1 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) eliminated No. 8 Benedictine (Kan.) 25-10. The invitational continues with the semifinal round on Friday. Indiana Tech and Cumberlands start things off at 10 a.m. SCAD Savannah will take on Lawrence Tech at 1 p.m.
