Sixers-Celtics took a wild turn for the final 30 seconds of regulation
This was UNREAL!
The final 30 seconds of Game 3 of the Sixers and Celtics second-round playoff series was madness with a clutch bucket, a tragic turnover and a game-tying jumper as time expired. Let’s review what went on, and how Philly saved itself from an embarrassing finish to a tight game.
Brad Stevens’ magic gets Jaylen Brown an open layup
Out of a timeout with 25 seconds left, Brad Stevens drew the perfect play for Jaylen Brown to get an easy two points down low, when his team was trailing by two points.
That bucket knotted the score at 87, and should have given Philly the chance to win, or go to overtime.

That’s not what happened.
J.J. Redick makes a devastating turnover
Wasting the clock to take the final shot, Redick and Ben Simmons had a communication problem that caused the senior guard to toss the ball in the Australian’s direction with his back turned. Yikes.

Terry Rozier scooped the ball up and marched downcourt to dump the ball off to Brown to make what would’ve been the game-winning bucket with 1.7 seconds left.
That’s not what happened either.
Marco Belinelli hits a game-tying shot, and confetti mistakenly falls
Belinelli fought his way through Rozier to fade into the corner to catch an in-bounds pass where to hit the game-tying shot. Rozier tripped while face-guarding the sharpshooter, and his absence gave Belinelli a wide-open look that appeared initially to be a game-winning three-pointer.
WILD!
So confetti fell from the rafters. Problem was his foot was on the line.

Staff had to clear confetti off so teams could resume for overtime, and that took a lot of ton. Ridiculous.
What a wild end to a game that’s not yet finished.
