0

The investigation was opened on Monday evening.

The University of Michigan’s police department is looking into tweets that appear to be directed toward Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh. They were sent by one of his players, linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse.

On Saturday, Mbem-Bossee sent a series of since-deleted tweets that appear to be after he was suspended from the team following what Mbem-Bossee describes as a family matter.

The tweets were screenshotted by an MGoBlog user:

Per MLive, university police opened an investigation on Monday evening:

The University of Michigan Police Department launched an investigation Monday night into social media threats apparently aimed at the Michigan football coach, Melissa Overton, deputy chief and department spokeswoman confirmed to MLive on Tuesday.

According to the report, no arrests or charges have been made.

Mbem-Bossee is a rising junior who has played in 12 games in his Wolverine career. At this time, he is not listed on the active spring 2018 roster. As a 2016 recruit, he was a three-star linebacker prospect out of Ellenwood, Georgia.

This is a developing story that we will update with more information as it comes available.
