Florida State and Michigan face off for a trip to the Final Four
The second Elite Eight game on Saturday will a pair of teams gaining momentum in this NCAA Tournament, with the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines facing the No. 9 Florida State Seminoles to decide the West Region from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Michigan needed a last-second three by Jordan Poole to escape against Houston, but took advantage of their extra life by destroying Texas A&M 99-72 on Thursday in the Sweet 16.
The Wolverines are in their third Elite Eight in the last six seasons, and are looking for their first Final Four berth since 2013.
Florida State trailed Xavier by double digits in the second half of their second-round matchup, but closed on an 18-4 run to eliminate the West Region’s top seed. In the Sweet 16 the Seminoles used another big run, this one a 15-2 spurt and in the first half against Gonzaga to reach their first Elite Eight since 1993.
