Pac-12 task force urges end to ‘one-and-done,’ calls for enforcement separate from NCAA
The Pac-12 Conference task force on the college basketball bribery scandal has proposed an end to the “one-and-done’’ rule and taking the enforcement of major rules violations away from the NCAA, the conference announced Tuesday.
“I don’t think the NCAA has a lot of public confidence right now,” former Stanford, Cal and Warriors coach Mike Montgomery, a member of the task force, told The Chronicle. He said the enforcement arm of the NCAA is “overwhelmed.”
“The number of people they have compared with the number of decisions they have to make is incredible,” he said.
