LeBron named Eastern Conference Player of the Month

0

James averaged a triple-double in February.

Cavaliers forward LeBron James has been named the Eastern Conference’s player of the month for February. The league announced James’ win in a press release on Thursday:

James, for the first time in his career, averaged a triple-double, posting averages of 27 points, 10.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game. He also became the oldest player to average a triple-double in a single month at age 33.

In James’ third player of the month award win for the 2017-18 season, the Cavs went 6-4 and are 4-2 since adding four new players — Larry Nance Jr., George Hill, Jordan Clarkson and Rodney Hood — at the trade deadline. Kevin Love, the Cavs’ only other All-Star this season, also missed the entire month of February with a hand injury.

This is the seventh consecutive February that James has been named the Eastern Conference’s best player. Pelicans forward Anthony Davis won the award in the Western Conference.
