Isaac Haas breaks down thanking fans who supported sister

0

Erin Haas has epilepsy, and the Purdue family came together to lift her up.

On senior night at Purdue, center Isaac Haas had a message to loyal Boilermaker fans, and he was so overcome with emotion that he could barely deliver it before breaking down.

“I just want to thank everybody in the community for helping my sister. you have no idea how much that means in our family. You have no idea. Thank you so much.”

Haas’ younger sister, Erin, has epileptic seizures, and Isaac has a close bond with her.

“I can still remember, Erin would have one of her seizures and Isaac would go into her bedroom,’’ Rachel Haas said. “He’d be sitting there, holding her like a baby. They still fight like brother and sister sometimes, but he’s always there for her, whatever she needs.’’

Purdue raised money for epilepsy research earlier this season, and Haas dedicates his play to her.

Isaac’s career with the Boilermakers will soon come to an end, but his fight to cure his sister’s disease won’t stop anytime soon.
