Stanford women’s game canceled after WSU conditioning coach’s death
PULLMAN, Wash. — The women’s basketball game between No. 16 Stanford and Washington State scheduled for Sunday was canceled after the unexpected death of the Cougars’ director of strength and conditioning, David Lang.
Lang died of a heart attack, according to a Facebook post by his son, Joe Lang.
David Lang, a longtime member of the athletic department, worked directly with the women’s basketball and men’s and women’s golf programs.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lang family,” Washington State athletic director Patrick Chun said in a statement. “David was beloved and respected by our entire department.
