[Men's Basketball] Brescia loses hard fought battle against #2 Ranked IU East in Opening round
The Brescia University Men's Basketball program lost a hard fought 92-80 playoff game on Wednesday night. Brescia lead at Halftime over the Red Wolves who are ranked #2 in the nation by a single point. Brescia played without Junior Dillon Geralds who was by home in Owensboro due to illness. Sophomore Brandon Stacker helped pick up the offensive scoring missed with Geralds being out, scoring 13 points in the first half and finishing the game with a career high 19 points. The Bearcats were lead by Kayode Daboiku with 25 points and 13 rebounds, Seniors Jordan Cooper-Livers and Tavon Johnson added 15 and 11 points respectively. Brescia shot 50.1% from the field for the game. It was the 16 turnovers that lead to 23 points and the Red Wolves getting 43 points off of the bench. "I am proud on how we came back after a slow start in the first half. We really dominated play for stretches. IU East came out in the second half and played hard and attached us inside the paint." stated Head Coach Brian Skortz. Brandon was feeling sick before the start of the game but played very well even though he wasn't feeling well. He really hit some big shots for us in the first half.", added Coach Skortz IU East will take on IU Kokomo on Saturday in the semi-final round of the RSC Conference Tournament.
