Rio Grande Sports Information
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Despite a long winning streak, the University of Rio Grande women's basketball team had made a habit of quick starts followed by mid-game swoons and late-game rallies.
The RedStorm went off script, though, for their latest triumph.
Head coach David Smalley's club rallied from a 16-point first half deficit to post a 76-73 win over Indiana University Southeast, Saturday afternoon, in River States Conference action at the Activities Building.
Rio Grande won for a 15th consecutive time, running its record to 17-1 overall and 6-0 in the RSC.
The Grenadiers dropped to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in league play with the loss.
