Kevin Huerter has pair of strong games for Maryland

Kevin Huerter continues to be a key cog with the University of Maryland men's basketball team but the 6-foot-7 sophomore guard has had a pair of outstanding performances of late.

Huerter, from Clifton Park (Shenendehowa High), had the best all-around game of his young college career in a 75-50 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 21 in College Park, Md. He had a double-double with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and just missed a triple-double with a career-high eight assists. On Nov. 27, in a 72-70 loss to Syracuse in the Carrier Dome, he had a career-high 23 points aided by a career-high seven 3-point baskets.

On the season, Huerter is second on the 11-3 Terps with a 13.
