Cal men squeak out overtime victory vs. CS Fullerton
Cal made it way more difficult than it had to be, the Bears men’s basketball team managed to stave off Cal State Fullerton in overtime Saturday afternoon.
After leading for 34 minutes in regulation and by as many as 15 points, Cal needed a 7-0 start to the overtime to beat the Titans 92-88 in a nonconference game at Haas Pavilion.
Don Coleman scored eight of his 26 points in overtime, giving Cal’s its first two-game winning streak in a month and a chance to finish the nonconference season with a winning record. The Bears (5-6) have two more games before starting Pac-12 play and haven’t entered the conference schedule with a losing record since the 2003-04 season.
