Chargers still haven't scored on an opening possession because Nick Novak missed a chip shot

0

The Chargers are now 0 for 11 on scoring points on an opening possession.

The Los Angeles Chargers’ streak of scoreless opening offensive possessions reached 11 even though the team’s first drive against the Dallas Cowboys got into the red zone.

An incomplete pass intended for Keenan Allen set up a 34-yard field goal for Nick Novak, but the Chargers kicker pushed it wide right, leaving the score, 0-0. Novak is now eight of 12 on field goals since taking over the kicking job for the Chargers in Week 5 following the release of Younghoe Koo.

While the Chargers haven’t been getting off to good starts, the team has still been winning games as of late, with victories in four of its last six matchups. Most recently it scored 54 points against the Buffalo Bills.

Los Angeles still hasn’t had a first possession score, but the long drive wasn’t a bad start for the Chargers who are looking good early against the Cowboys.
