Cal women’s basketball: Team invites great expectations
The Cal women’s basketball team isn’t shying away from great expectations.
In fact, the Bears seem to be inviting even more.
“I know it’s that time of year where everyone’s undefeated and people feel good, but I feel very confident that this the best team chemistry we’ve had since our Final Four team,” head coach Lindsay Gottlieb said. “I can see it. I can feel it.”
Cal, ranked No. 20 in the Associated Press’ preseason poll, is led by honorable mention All-America center Kristine Anigwe and a roster full of complementary parts that have the Bears believing they can make a run similar to that of the 2012-13 team, which went 32-4 and reached the Final Four.
