Steelers vs. Lions live stream: How to watch 'Sunday Night Football' online
The Steelers and Lions will face off in the featured matchup on Sunday. Here’s how you can watch.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to take on the Detroit Lions under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football for Week 8. They play at 8:30 p.m. on NBC (live streaming available via NBC Sports).
Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers haven’t been perfect, but they are 5-2 on the season and currently lead the AFC North. They are a game and a half up on the Baltimore Ravens, a team they already beat once this season.
The Steelers are coming off a 29-14 victory over the rival Cincinnati Bengals, and before that scored a narrow but thrilling win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Their losses were to the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Detroit is 3-3, with losses in their last two outings. They fell big time to the New Orleans Saints the last time out, allowing 52 points, and lost a close one to the Carolina Panthers. They won their first two games of the season, but with losses in three of their last four, they’re searching for answers.
They’re running in third place in the NFC North, behind the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Matthew Stafford has been effective for the Lions, but defensively they have allowed teams to put up far too many points to be sustainable.

Steelers vs. Lions news:
- Pittsburgh wide receiver Martavis Bryant won’t play on Sunday against Detroit, as the team will be making him inactive. Things have been getting more and more volatile between the two sides, and now he’s not going to play.
- The Lions ruled out three players for Sunday’s game: offensive tackles Emmett Cleary and Greg Robinson and wide receiver Kenny Golladay. The Lions will be seriously short-staffed at tackle, and a third consecutive missed game is a big deal for Golladay, a rookie.
- Le’Veon Bell has had an excellent few years in his young career, but on Sunday he can set a significant milestone for the NFL record books.
- The Pittsburgh injury report looks somewhat worrisome: all of Marcus Gilbert, Vance McDonald and Stephon Tuitt have been missing practice and are either out or likely to be out on Sunday.
