Bengals turn the tables with pick six vs. Colts right when they looked toast
Carlos Dunlap rescued the Bengals when Andy Dalton couldn’t.
With the Cincinnati Bengals on the ropes, the Indianapolis Colts just needed one more drive with points and an impressive Week 8 victory would’ve been close to sealed. Instead, Jacoby Brissett threw a pick six to Carlos Dunlap that saved the Bengals, and ended up giving them the 24-23 win.
It wasn’t really a bad play by Brissett as much as it was an incredible one by Dunlap who knocked the ball up in the air and came down with it himself.
The interception came with about seven minutes left in the game when the Colts had a 23-17 lead. On the previous possession, Andy Dalton was sacked twice, and the Bengals were forced to punt.
Cincinnati’s offense has been a liability for much of 2017, and the defense hasn’t forced many turnovers. Dunlap’s interception was only the fifth takeaway of the year for the Bengals, but it couldn’t have come at a better time. It also saved the Bengals from an embarrassing loss.
