Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette briefly leaves game vs. Rams with ankle injury
Losing Leonard Fournette for any amount of time would be a huge loss for the Jaguars offense.
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette left the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams after a run appeared to hyperextend his right leg.
Fournette was taken to the medical tent to be evaluated further and quickly returned to the sideline where he tried to jog off the injury. The Jaguars announced the injury as an ankle problem and ruled him questionable to return.
Shortly thereafter, the team announced he would return to the game.
Prior to the injury, Fournette had 130 rushing yards on 21 carries, including a 75-yard touchdown to open up the game. The No. 4 overall selection in April has scored at least one touchdown in every game so far in his career.
The injury was a scare for the Jaguars, who rely on Fournette for the majority of the team’s offense. But the team can breathe a sigh of relief because it appears to be not as serious as it first looked.
