An Indians fan went into labor during ALDS Game 1 so she included a nod to Trevor Bauer in the baby’s name
A good postseason start and he’s getting babies named after him already!
Trevor Bauer put together the most impressive start of any starting pitcher in the postseason so far, going for 6 2⁄3 innings against the Yankees and shutting them out — only letting up two hits along the way.
That start was apparently good enough for one local mother to name her newborn son after Bauer. According to a tweet from the Indians, little Logan Bauer Lane decided he wanted to begin his arrival during the game and his mom went into labor while Bauer was pitching.
Because of the timing and his masterful performance on the mound, the newborn’s name apparently merited a nod to Bauer somewhere.

Look at that adorable little moppet! So cute!
As with Phillies fans who named their kid after Rhys Hoskins, this fan also went with the middle name strategy just in case Bauer lets up seven runs off of 10 hits in his next start or his arm falls off or something. Logan Bauer Lane really rolls off the tongue, too.
Plus, it’s an innocuous enough middle name that it won’t explicitly tie this wee one to Bauer his whole life. Always good to have a backup plan there in case this turns into a Curt Schilling-type deal.
