Bears vs. Packers live stream: How to watch ‘Thursday Night Football’ online

0

Thursday’s matchup will be part of the NFL’s new tri-cast with Amazon Prime availability.

For the 195th time in their histories, the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will come face to face, with the winner taking the lead in a series that currently sits at 94-94-6. Aaron Rodgers and co. will play host to their storied rivals at Lambeau Field on Thursday Night Football. You can tune in at 8:25 p.m. ET on NFL Network/CBS in local markets (live stream).

Both teams are coming off overtime wins, although that’s only a part of the story. In one of the more head-scratching matchups of the week, the Packers were forced into overtime by a Bengals team who hadn’t even scored a touchdown in the first two games of the season. The passing attack is Green Bay’s bread and butter, though, and Rodgers has thrown for over 300 yards in all three games this season.

The Bears, on the other hand, were forced to go into extra minutes against the Steelers, and came away with a win thanks to their powerful rushing offense. They might be young, second- and first-year players respectively, but Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen recorded over 100 total yards each in the team’s first win of the season.

Both teams have long lists of injured and inactive players, with the Packers missing several OTs and six starters, and the Bears having already placed seven players on IR before the new injuries from Week 3. Playing on a short week is going to do no favors for either team heading into the matchup, and the head coaches may or may not be a little snarky about it.

Bears vs. Packers news:

That report listed the team’s top three tackles in various states of practice ability. Left tackle David Bakhtiari was listed as limited, while right tackle Bryan Bulaga and swing backup Kyle Murphy were designated as non-participants...

The ground game was clicking all afternoon, and they did it in a variety of ways. Counters, cut backs, outside zone, inside zone, and even the stretch play worked against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The rookie made the most of his career-high 61 snaps, including a third-down sack (one of two on the day) and multiple drive-killing tackles that helped the defense make enough stops to help win the game.

On Sunday afternoon, Howard instead showed everyone in attendance at Soldier Field and those watching at home exactly what he's all about: these Bears are his team and he's going to put them on his back when they need him to. The way a star shines.

Bears vs. Packers predictions:

As hard as it is to go against Green Bay in front of a home crowd, their list of injuries is too extensive to try and best the Bears. Chicago comes away with a surprising win on the road, led by their ground-and-pound offense. Seven of our eight experts, and OddsShark’s computer, disagree and think the Packers will win.
