USWNT vs. New Zealand live stream: How to watch USA friendly online
The USWNT continue their long string of friendlies ahead of the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship.
The United States women’s national team has a lot to prepare for over the next couple of years, especially after losing the Tournament of Nations that ended in August. They feel like they’re in a major transitional phase right now, and with the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship looming next year and the World Cup in 2019, there’s very little time to get through that transition.
That puts a lot of value on this match against New Zealand, a lower-level but hungry and improving team in the world of women’s football. They don’t play nearly as many matches as the USWNT and have won only one match in 2017 — one of their four Cyprus Women’s Cup matches, the only they’ve played so far this year.
The last time these two teams faced off was in the 2016 Olympics tournament, the USWNT came out as 2-0 winners with goals from Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan, but it was a very tough match that the United States women had to play at their best to come out on top of. They can expect a similar performance this time around, and if the USWNT can come away with a confident performance and a notable win, they’ll certainly start to answer some of the questions looming around the team right now.
