Notre Dame to Poach the Owls

Yep, we're back to that again. I gave you guys a year off, but now it's time to resume our fall tradition of over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek rooting for Notre Dame football. (Those of you who protest that this is a chess blog will be reminded that you get what you pay for. Compared to the amount of time Jan Gustafsson spends talking about basketball during lulls in commentary, you're getting a bargain here! Of course, those of you with your own rooting interests in college football are welcome to offer a plug for your own teams, or to engage in [mild] schadenfreude when the apocalypse strikes and Notre Dame loses.)

So with those preliminaries out of the way, here goes: the greatest college football team in history, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, kick off the 2018 campaign with a home game against the Temple Owls.
