Jonathan Isaac is a top-2 talent in the draft

0

Lonzo Ball and Josh Jackson are tantalizing talents, but shooting is a major red flag with both of them. FT percentage is a strong indicator of shooting potential and they have some very low percentages. In a league all about spacing, having a non-shooter on the perimeter can be crippling.

Jonathan Isaac has a lot going for him. He's younger than Jackson, longer, has bigger hands, a better body, is a better shooter, and has similar ball-handling and athleticism. He's a former 6'3 guard that sprouted up late in his high school years, a la Anthony Davis, giving him a natural feel for the perimeter at nearly 7 feet tall. He can be a true 4 down the line with his length and build.

Isaac is the best 3 and D prospect in the top 10; none of the others project to be a good shooter and good defender. Jackson and Ball's FT percentages are atrocious, Tatum isn't a defensive guy, Fox can't shoot, Smith is more of a pure scorer, and Monk is under-sized.

If Isaac played for a basketball powerhouse, he would get way more attention. The lack of attention he gets in conjunction with the relatively small program he played for strongly reminds me of the draft free-falls of Kawhi Leonard (San Diego St.) and Paul George (Fresno St.).

Let's not add Jonathan Isaac (Florida St.) to the list.
