Steve Kerr flinched as if he thought the ref was going to hit him
The ref’s not going to hit you, Steve.
Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals was an intense game, partly because the Cavs fought hard to break the sweep and force a Game 5, partly because both teams got into it at different points during the game, and partly because of weirdness surrounding the technical fouls on Draymond Green, and how the refs intended for one of the techs to be assigned to Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
But before the incident involving Green’s second-technical-foul-but-whoops-it-was-actually-his-first, there was a funny moment where Kerr argued with a ref, presumably about the first technical foul that was mistakenly issued to Green. Referee Marc Davis had turned around to talk to Kerr, and Kerr flinched when Davis made a slight arm motion. Then Kerr got back into frustrated coach mode, and argued some more.
I’m not sure why Kerr thought a referee would hit him, like that’s not a thing they can ever do. But thank you, ABC, for getting that on camera.
