Siena basketball beats Fairfield for fourth straight victory

Siena's Jared Billups finished with 10 points and nine rebounds and played his usual stingy defense on Fairfield graduate guard Caleb Fields, who finished with nine points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field.

“I thought we made winning plays,” Siena head coach Carmen Maciariello said. “I think Jared Billups is the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference. I don’t think it’s anything close. Limiting Fields, I thought that was a key to the game. And I thought Michael Eley is one of the best freshmen in the league. So we’ve got some pieces and we’ve got to continue to grow them.”
